The Calico Bristlenose Pleco also known as the Bristlenose Plecostomus. It comes from the rivers and tributaries of South America. The coloring is mainly brown and green with a mottling of lighter areas. The mouth area and nose are covered in short, whisker-like appendages, which are primarily used for detecting food. A Bristlenose Pleco makes a good addition to any aquarium or aquaponic project.
