Borage is a blue edible flower with a mild cucumber flavor. This plant bears many flowers and attracts bees and butterflies while deterring weeds.

Planting Info:  Plant seeds directly into the ground as soon as the soil warms in the spring. Plant 1/4-1/2 inches deep and cover with a thin layer of soil. Can plant every 4 weeks in the summer to have a constant supply of borage flowers.   

Harvest Tips:  Harvest borage as it begins to flower.    

Season:  Summer- early fall  

Soil Requirements: Grows well in average soil but will grow in poor soil.  

History/Uses:  Edible flowers that can be added to salads or garnish cold drinks. Also great to freeze into ice cubes that give off a mild cucumber flavor.

Plant near your vegetable garden to smother weeds and attract bees.
