OTHER: Although Black Nebula Carrots look like they are from another world, they are actually an heirloom. Their beauty is more than skin deep, with deep dark purple coloration all the way through to the core. Nearly black in color, Black Nebula is one of the darkest colored carrots around, & is even used as a dye.

The tapered roots grow up to a length of 6 – 8”, but most agree that harvesting them at 4” is best for the ideal taste & texture. Enjoy Black Nebula Carrots raw in salads or juiced in a lovely purple drink, or cooked by roasting, steaming, baking, etc. These carrots keep their color when they are cooked!

Leave a few carrots in the garden to flower & go to seed … bees love carrot flowers, & the flowers of Black Nebula are especially pretty in white with purple tinted edges. Their foliage has a purple tint too. After flowering, these open pollinated carrots will produce seeds you can collect to plant the following season to enjoy again!
