OTHER: The Lotus is an aquatic plant whose roots grow under the water with large lily pad type leaves & flowers float on top of the water. The huge leaves can measure as much as 2’ wide, & are topped with huge 8 – 12” fragrant flowers. The flowers turn to ornamental seed pods that are popularly used dried in arrangements or potpourris. These are the large-seeded nelumbo species whose seeds measure an average of 18mm long. Lotus plants can be naturalized in larger bodies of water, or they can be grown in containers in smaller ponds or fountains or to keep them from spreading.
