Duckweed is an important high-protein food source for many animals, including Tilapia. We feed it to our Tilapia to vary their diet and reduce our feed cost.
These tiny, fast-growing plants help clean water by uptaking nitrate and phosphate. The plants are also used as shelter by pond-water species such as bullfrogs and fish such as bluegills.
